Around Pointe d'Emy - Stage 2 - Hiking Trail

This stage of the Autour de la pointe d'Emy loop is the key passage of the itinerary. Crossing the Col de l'Épaisseur requires alpine hiking experience and sure footedness. More technical and steep, it offers fine panoramic views.

From the Chalet d'la Croë, the route gradually rises through alpine meadows before reaching more mineral terrain on the approach to the Col de l'Épaisseur. At this point, the trail becomes more demanding: progress is made along a sometimes steep and narrow path, requiring care and familiarity with alpine terrain. Crossing the pass is the most challenging part of the stage, requiring sure footing. Once over the pass, the route turns southwards and begins a descent into a high mountain landscape dominated by the Aiguilles d'Arves. The path winds its way between scree and alpine meadows before gradually reaching the Aiguilles d'Arves refuge, an ideal place to enjoy the wild, mineral atmosphere of the massif.
